Solvent-Based Polyols

Instrumental Polymer Technologies is the only supplier of branched aliphatic polycarbonate polyols for use in two component polyurethane systems. Polycarbonate polyols offer improved toughness, chemical resistance, water resistance, adhesion and durability over acrylic and polyester polyols. Branching in our polycarbonates offers improved properties and hardness relative to diols provided by other suppliers. Our PACAPOL® polyols are branched or hyperbranched polyols whereas our QUICKSTAR® polyols are dendrimeric in shape. The dendrimeric shape provides even lower viscosity in high solids systems relative to the branched polycarbonate polyols. Instrumental Polymer Technologies produces our aliphatic polycarbonate polyols using one single intermediate, which enables our polyols to be cost competitive with acrylic and polyester polyols.
